* used to encourage someone to continue doing something that is difficult
Ross : I feel like giving up. I just can't do it anymore. 포기 해야 할까봐. 이제 더 이상 못하겠어.
Tim : Never say die. If you put your whole self into it, you can do it.
약한 소리 하지마. 전력을 다하면 넌 할 수 있어.
Ross : I thought that before, but after failing so many times, I don't feel it is true.
나도 전에는 그렇게 생각했는데 너무 많이 실패하니까 그렇게 생각되지 않아.
I definitely need a vacation. 휴가를 내서 좀 쉬어야겠어.
It's a piece of cake

Kate : It only took five minutes to repair it. 고치는데 5분 밖에 안 걸렸네.
Tim : It was a piece of cake for me. 내겐 식은죽 먹기야.
Tim : Kate, the copier is out of paper. 케이트, 복사기 종이가 다 떨어졌어.
Would you mind showing me how to add more? 어떻게 집어 넣는 건지 알려줄래?
Kate : Sure. It's a piece of cake. And here's the manual if you forget.
그래요. 아주 쉬워요. 잊어버리면 이 설명서를 보세요.
Tim : Thanks. Where do we keep the extra paper? 고마워. 복사지 여유분은 어디에 보관해?
Tim : Did you have a chance to use the new software? It's great.
새로운 소프트웨어 사용해봤어? 끝내주던데.
Ross : I haven't really had the time to learn new softwares.

Tim : It's a piece of cake. There isn't much to learn.

Mariah : Our team will win today! 오늘은 우리 팀이 이길 거야.
Kate : Says you! We'll beat you! That'll be a piece of cake!

Kate : Was it very difficult to find my house? 우리 집 찾기 어려웠니?
Tim : No, it was a snap. 아니. 아주 쉬웠어.

* 참 재밌는 구어표현인데 우리나라의 [땅 파면 돈이 나오냐]와 비슷한 뉘앙스...
* money doesn't grow on trees = you should not waste money
Tim : Are you going to buy that expensive suit? 그 비싼 양복 살 거야?
Ross : Sure. I've got my credit card. You should buy one, too.
물론이지. 나 신용카드 있어. 너도 한 벌 사.
Tim : I don't have enough money. Money doesn't grow on trees.
난 돈이 넉넉하지 않아서. 돈이 하늘에서 떨어지는 줄 아니?
Ross : Yeah, but I really want to buy that suit. 맞아. 하지만 난 정말 그 옷이 사고 싶어.
* [돈은 저절로 생기는 게 아니야]라는 다른 표현은 There's no such thing as money tree
I'm so flattered
* 상대방에게 분에 넘치는 칭찬을 받았을 때 기쁜 감정을 표현할 때
* be flattered = to be pleased because someone has shown you that they like or admire you
Tim : You are the most beautiful lady I've ever met in Korea.

Kate : Oh, I'm so flattered. 과찬이십니다.
Tim : What do the papers say about me? 나에 대해 신문에 어떻게 쓰여 있냐?
Ross : They say you're one of the most promising TOEIC instructors.
장래가 촉망되는 토익강사라고 써 있어.
Tim : Oh, I'm so flattered. 오, 그거 기분 좋은데.
Tim : Your dress is very pretty. 입고 있는 드레스가 정말 예쁘다.
Mariah : Thank you. 감사합니다.
Tim : You're the most beautiful lady I've ever met in Cheongju.
넌 내가 청주에서 만나 본 여자 중에 가장 예뻐.
Mariah : I'm so flattered. 과찬이십니다.
Ross : Your son is very handsome. I think he inherited your good looks.
아들 참 잘생겼네. 니 외모를 물려받은 것 같아.
Tim : This is very flattering. 과찬이야.
ren : Everytime you make a speech the hall is packed to overflowing.
선배님이 연설을 할때마다 사람들이 넘쳐 흐를정도로 만원을 이루네요.
Tim : It is quite flattering. 그렇게 말하니 기분 좋네.
I just lost my appetite
* lose one's appetite 식욕이 떨어지다/식욕을 잃다
* have a good/huge/big appetite = have the ability to eat a lot of food 식욕이 왕성하다/좋다
* have a poor appetite 식욕이 없다
* spoil/ruin one's appetite = eat before a meal and then not want to eat at the meal
* whet one's appetite = increase your desire for an experience 식욕을 돋우다
Ross : Did you see that car accident today? 오늘 차 사고 난 거 봤니?
Kate : Don't remind me! I just lost my appetite. 얘기하지 마! 밥맛 떨어졌어.
Ross : Sorry. I forgot that you were eating. 미안 네가 먹고 있다는 걸 깜박했어.
Kate : Well, I can't eat now. I'm not hungry anymore. 이제 못 먹겠다. 더 이상 배 안 고파.
eg) She has completely lost her appetite since the operation.
그녀는 수술 후에 식욕을 완전히 잃었다.
eg) Get off the cookie jar! It'll spoil your appetite. 과자 항아리에 손 대지마. 밥맛 없어져.
eg) Don't eat that cookie now, you'll spoil your appetite. 그 과자 지금 먹지 마라. 밥맛 없어진다.
