Ross : Oh, I'm so stiff today. I can feel muscles that I never even knew I had.
아, 오늘은 온몸이 뻐근한데. 있는지 조차 몰랐던 근육들까지 알 수 있겠어.
Those morning tennis matches seem harder and harder.
아침 테니스시합이 점점 더 힘이 드나봐.
Tim : Do you play every morning? How long have you been doing that?
매일 아침 테니스 치니? 테니스 친지 얼마나 됐어?
I haven't seen you on the courts before. 전에 코트에서 널 못봤는데.
Ross : Only three days now. I quit for the winter and that's why I'm so sore.
이제 겨우 3일째야. 겨울동안 쉬었다가 하니까 이렇게 아픈가봐.
I've even got a blister on my thumb. 엄지 손가락엔 물집까지 생겼다니까.
eg) From my new basketball shoes I have got those blisters. They're too tight.
새 농구화를 신어서 이 물집이 생긴거야. 신발이 너무 조이거든.
eg) New shoes always give me blisters. 새로운 신발을 신으면 항상 물집이 생긴다.
Mariah : Tim, could you do me a big favor? 팀, 어려운 부탁하나 들어 줄래요?
The new suit I'm having made is olny half finished and I leave tomorrow.
내가 마춰놓은 새 정장이 반쯤 밖에 안됐는데, 내일은 떠나야 하거든요.
Tim : Oh, I know what you want. You'd like me to pick it up for you when it's done, right?
아, 무슨 부탁인지 알겠네. 그게 다 되면 나보고 좀 찾아 달라는 거지, 맞지?
Mariah : How'd you know that? Yes, here's 300,000 to pay for it. Thanks for the favor.
그걸 어떻게 아셨어요? 맞아요, 여기 정장값 30만원 있어요. 부탁 들어주셔서 고마워요.
Ross : You're doing me a big favor. I wish I could repay you.
너에게 신세를 많이 졌어. 보답할 수 있길 바래.
Tim : It's OK. Think nothing of it. 됐어. 그런 생각 하지마.
Ross : We've just met and you've already done me a big favor.
만나자마자 호의를 베풀어줬어요.
Jay : It's the least thing one can do. Any friend of Tim's is a friend of mine.
그 정도는 해야죠. 팀의 친구면 제 친구인걸요.
Ross : I smell a rat. 범인을 알 것 같아.
Mariah : Who do you think it is? 누구인 것 같은데?
Ross : I'm pretty sure that it is Jay. 제이가 분명해.
Mariah : Come to think of it, he has been acting kind of funny.
생각해보니, 행동이 좀 수상한쩍긴 했어.
* 위 대화에서 smell a rat은 [뭔가 잘못됐다는 낌새를 채다][수상쩍다]란 의미를 갖은 표현...
Jay : Any idea about where we can hold Tim's going-away party?
팀의 작별 파티를 어디에서 하는 게 좋을까?
Mariah : Come to think of it, there's a good pub just down the street.
지금 생각해보니, 저 아래 길가에 괜찮은 술집이 있어.
Kate : Why don't you join us? We're going shopping. 우리 쇼핑가는데 같이 갈래?
Mariah : Come to think of it, I do need some things. All right.
생각해보니, 나도 필요한 게 좀 있어. 좋아.
Ross : All of my copies are too light. 복사한 것들이 전부다 너무 흐려요.
Do we have any more toner cartridges for the photocopier?
복사기용 토너 카트리지 더 있나요?
Mariah : Not that I know of, but I'll go and check in the supply room.
제가 알기로는 없어요, 하지만 비품실에 가서 확인해 볼게요.
Ross : I ordered a dozen cases over a month ago. 한달도 더 전에 한다스를 주문했는데요.
Tim : I'm finally moving into my new apartment tomorrow 드디어 내일 새 아파트로 이사를 가서
and I'm throwing a house warming party to celebrate.
이사를 자축하는 집들이 파티를 열거야.
Ross : Why do you throw a party after you move? 이사를 한 다음에 왜 파티를 여는데?
Tim : Well, new dwellings feel strange and cold at first, 음, 새 집이 낯설고 또 우선 춥잖아.
so Westerners invite friends and family over to warm it up.
그래서 서양인들은 친구들과 가족들을 초대해서 집을 따뜻하게 데우는거야.
Kate : What will we bring for his housewarming party? 집들이에 뭘 들고 가지?
Tim : Well, we should get him something special to remember for a long time.
글쎄, 오래 기억에 남을 특별한 것을 선물하자.
eg) You showed up to the housewarming party empty-handed?
집들이에 빈손으로 왔단 말이야?
eg) Are you free next Friday evening? 다음 금요일 저녁에 시간 있어?
I'm throwing a farewell party and I'd like you to come. 송별파티를 할건데 오면 좋겠어.
eg) He's throwing a BYOB party this Friday at his place.
가 이번 금요일에 자기 집에서 각자 마실 것을 지참하는 파티를 열거야.
So, what do you think? You wanna go join? 어때? 같이 갈래?

Tim : What's the matter with her? She seems upset about something.
그녀에게 무슨 일이 있니? 무슨 일엔가 화를 내는 것 같은데.
Ross : Nothing that I know of. 내가 아는 바로는 아무 일도 없어.
Tim : Ross didn't call today, did he? 로스가 오늘 전화 안 했지?
Kate : Not that I know of. 내가 알기로는 안 했어.
Ross : Is there something wrong with the computer? 컴퓨터에 이상 있니?
Jay : Not that I know of. 내가 알기로는 없어.
Kate : Is there any orange juice in the refrigerator? 냉장고에 오렌지 쥬스 있어?
Tim : Not that I'm aware of. 내가 알기로는 없어.
