You guys are so dense
* dense는 [밀집한][짙은]이라는 의미 이외에, [아둔한][이해가 느린]이라는 의미도 있답니다...
* dense = (informal) not able to understand things easily
eg) You gusys are so dense. 너희들하고는 말이 안 통해.
eg) He's very shallow. 그는 생각이 너무 짧아.
* shallow는 [얕은][깊이가 없는]이라는 의미의 형용사이고, be so shallow는 [생각이 짧다][어리석다]라는 의미...
He stood me up
* stand a person up 은 [약속시간에 오지않다][데이트에서 바람맞히다]라는 의미의 숙어...
* stand somebody up = (informal) to not meet someone after you have promised to do something with them
Tim : Why did you stand her up last night? 왜 어젯밤 그녀를 바람맞혔지?
Ross : I didn't stand her up on purpose. It was an accident. 고의로 그런게 아냐. 사고였어.
Tim : Why is your girl friend so mad at you? 왜 니 여친이 화내고 있니?
Jay : I stood her up last night and she caught me dating another girl.
어젯밤에 그녀를 바람맞히고 다른 여자랑 데이트하다가 걸렸거든요.
Tim : Oh? Don't you think that's going too far? 정말? 너 너무한거 아냐?
Ross : Mariah stood me up last night. 어젯밤 마리아한테 바람맞았어.
Tim : That's one of those things. Look on the bright side. 다 그런거야. 좋게 생각해.
You saved money by not eating out and going to the movies with her.

Ross : I got stood up last night again. 어제 저녁에 나 또 바람맞았어.
Kate : How pathetic. 불쌍해라.
Tim : You look angry with someone. 너 누군가한테 화가 난 모양인데.
Ross : Karen bunes me up. 카렌이 열받게 했어.
Tim : Why? 왜?
Ross : She stood me up last night. 어젯밤에 날 바람맞혔거든.
* burn somebody up = (informal) to make someone angry
Can you give me a ride?
* drop somebody off = to take someone by car to a particular place that you are driving past
Tim : Where are you heading out? 어디로 가니?
Mariah : To Kang-nam station. Can you give me a ride? 강남역. 태워줄 수 있어요?
Tim : Think so. Hop in! 응. 타!
* 여기에서 Hop in은 구어에서 [자동차에 올라 타다]라는 의미...
Ross : My car just died. 내 차가 고장났어.
Tim : Again? When are you going to get a new one? 또? 언제 새 차 살거야?
Ross : Not today. Who's gonna give me a ride? 오늘은 아니야. 누가 태워다 줄래?
Tim : Well I guess that'd be me, wouldn't it? 음 내가 데려다 줘야 할 것 같은데, 그렇지?
Tim : Can l give you a ride? 태워줄까?
Ross : No, thanks. I've got a ride. 고맙지만 사양할래. 누가 태워 주기로 했거든.
Ross : Oh, my god! What is this? Did you buy a new car? 세상에! 이게 뭐야? 새차 뽑았니?
Tim : Yes, What do you think? 그래. 어떠니?
Ross : What a doozie! I've always dreamed of cruising in a convertible.
멋지다! 난 항상 컨버터블을 타보고 싶었는데.
You're gonna give me a ride, aren't you? 한 번 태워줄 거지?
Tim : Definitely. Just hope in. 그럼. 어서 타!
Ross : Wow, It's so cool! I love this car. I wish this was mine.
와! 진짜 환상이다! 차 좋은데. 내 차였으면 좋겠다.
Tim : You can buy it if you really buckle down for a year.
한 일년쯤 허리띠 바짝 졸라매면 살 수 있을걸.
Kate : How did Ross get here? 로스는 여기 어떻게 왔대?
Mariah : I think he had to hitchhike because his car broke down.
차가 고장나서 지나가는 차를 얻어 타고 왔을 거야.
Kate : At least he made it. 그래도 오긴 왔잖아.
Mariah : We'll give him a ride home tonight. 오늘밤에는 우리가 집까지 태워줘야겠다.
Tim : Do you need a lift home? 집에까지 태워다 줄까?
Kate : Oh. That would be very helpful, thank you. 그러면 아주 도움이 되지. 고마워.
eg) Hope in. I'll give you a ride home. 어서 타. 집에까지 태워다 줄께.
eg) Can I give you a lift? 태워줄까요?
eg) My car broke down. Can you give me a ride? 내 차가 고장났는데 좀 태워줄 수 있니?
It pissed me off
* piss somebody off = (spoken) an impolite expression meaning to annoy someone very much
Tim : You know what? Ross took my car out once again.
그거 알아? 로스가 또 내 차를 가지고 나갔어.
Kate : Without permission? 허락도 없이?
Tim : Yeah, and he didn't even fill up the gas. 그래, 그리고 걘 차에 기름도 안 채워놨어.
Kate : You must be quite upset. 너 정말 화났겠다.
Tim : Yes, it really pissed me off. 그래, 그것 때문에 나 정말 열 받았어.
Kate : What are you gonna do about it? 어떻게 할 셈이야?
Tim : I don't know just yet. 아직은 잘 모르겠어.
eg) It really pisses me off when my car won't start in the morning.
아침에 차가 시동이 안걸리면 정말 열받는다.
Live it up
* 이 표현은 [사치스럽게 지내다]라는 의미가 있으므로, 조심해서 사용해야 하는 표현...
* (informal) to do things that you enjoy and spend a lot of money
Tim : How much did you spend on your trip? 여행하는데 얼마나 썼냐?
Ross : I'm not sure, but I know that we lived it up. 잘 모르겠지만 우리는 펑펑썼어.
eg) Honey, it doesn't harm you to live it up a little.
자기야, 좀 즐기면서 산다고 해서 해가 될 건 없어.
