* peaked = pale and ill
Tim : You're white as a ghost. Are you all right? 너 얼굴이 하얗게 질렸어. 괜찮아?
Kate : I feel terrible. I think I'm going to be sick. 속이 너무 안 좋아. 토할 것 같아.
Tim : I think you should see a doctor. 너 아무래도 병원에 가봐야 할 것 같아.
Tim : You look as white as a sheet. What's the matter?
너 안색이 안 좋아 보여. 무슨 일이야?
Ross : I feel a bit drowsy and tired. 약간 졸립고 피곤하네.
Tim : Then, hit the sack early tonight. I don't want you missing school tomorrow.
그럼, 오늘밤엔 일찍 자도록 해. 내일 학교에 빠지면 안 되니까.
Tim : You look a little peaked. Are you okay? 너 얼굴이 수척해진 것 같아. 괜찮니?
Kate : I haven't been sleeping well for several days. 며칠간 잠을 잘 못자서 그래.

What's eating you?
* eat 는 속어로 [괴롭히다]라는 뜻이 있다. 그래서 위 표현은 [무슨 일로 괴로워하고 있어?][무슨 언짢은 일이라도 있어?]라는 의미...
* what's eating you? = (spoken) used to ask why someone seems annoyed or upset
* bug = (informal) to annoy
Tim : Hey. What's eating you? 이봐, 무슨 안 좋은 일 있니?
Mariah : What do you mean? 무슨 말씀이신지요?
Tim : You've been grumpy all morning. 오전 내내 우울해 하던데.
Mariah : Have I? I'm sorry. Actually I broke up with my boyfriend.
그랬었나요? 미안합니다. 실은 남자친구랑 헤어졌거든요.
Tim : So what's eating you now? 그래, 이젠 뭐가 불안한거야?
Ross : Ever since that dream, I just can't get over the thought of crashing.
그 꿈 이후로 추락할 거라는 생각을 떨쳐버릴 수가 없어.
Tim : Dreams are dreams. Nothing more and nothing less.
꿈은 꿈일 뿐이야. 그 이상도 그 이하도 아냐.
So stop being such a nervous wrack. 그러니까 그만 좀 초조해 해.
Ross : That's easy for you to say. You weren't in the dream.
너야 그렇게 쉽게 이야기할 수 있지만, 넌 그 꿈속에 없었잖아.
Ross : Jesus Christ! How could this happen to me? 세상에! 무슨 이런 일이 다 있지?
Mariah : What's bugging you? 뭐가 문제야?
Ross : Oh, no. I can't breathe. 어떻게. 숨을 쉴 수가 없어.
Mariah : What's the matter? Just tell me. 무슨 일이야? 말 해봐.
Ross : I think I just caught my girlfriend cheating me and having an affair with one of my friends. What am I gonna do?
여자친구가 내 친구와 몰래 만나는 걸 방금 확인했어. 나 어떻게 하지?
Mariah : Oh my god! Are you sure? 맙소사! 확실해?

케이트 오늘 왜 그래? 나한테 소리를 질러대잖아.
Why the long face?
* a long face = an unhappy or worried expression [시무룩한 얼굴]
Tim : Why the long face? 왜 우울한 얼굴이야?
Ross : I had a little brush with my boss this morning, and it keeps bothering me.
아침에 상사랑 말다툼을 좀 했는데, 자꾸 신경이 쓰이네.
eg) Why the long face? Snap out of it. 왜 우울한 얼굴을 하고 있어? 기운 내라고!
Something got you down?
* down = sad and discouraged
* blue = (informal) sad and without hope
Tim : Hey, Ross! Something got you down? 이봐, 로스. 무슨 안 좋은 일 있어?
Ross : My cat went out last night and hasn't come back home yet.
내 고양이가 어젯밤 나갔다가 아직 돌아오지 않았어.
Tim : Why so down? What's up? 왜 우울해? 무슨 일 있어?
Kate : I made a big mistake today. 오늘 큰 실수를 했거든.
Tim : Hey, what's with you? You seem like you're ready to explode at someone.
이봐, 뭣땜에 그래? 당장 누군가에게 화를 낼 것처럼 보이는데.
Ross : Well, I am! I got yelled at by my boss, and I've been feeling angry ever since.
뭐, 사실 그래. 사장님이 호통을 치셨는데, 아직도 화가 난다니까.
Tim : Maybe you should tell him that you don't like being spoken to like that.
그런 식으로 말을 들으면 기분이 나쁘다고 사장님한테 얘기해봐.
Kate : Why so down? What's the matter? 우울해 보이는데? 무슨 일이야?
Ross : I asked Karen out, but she turned me down.
카렌한테 데이트 신청했는데 거절 당했어.
Kate : Perk up! There are lots of pretty girls around.
기운 내! 예쁜 여자들은 주위에 얼마든지 있어.
Tim : Hey, what's the problem? Why so blue? 이봐, 무슨 일이야? 우울해 보이는데?
Ross : I failed another chemistry exam. 화학 시험에 또 떨어졌어.

I'm hungry to death
* famished = (informal) extremely hungry
* be starving/be starved = (spoken) to be very hungry
* revenous = extremely hungry
Tim : Are you hungry? 배고파?
Ross : Am I hungry? I'm hungry to death. 배고프냐고? 내고파 죽을 지경이야.
Tim : I'm kind of hungry. I feel like some snacks. 배가 좀 고픈데. 과자 좀 먹고 싶네.
Kate : There are vending machines in a hallway. 복도에 자판기가 있어.
Kate : Your stomach is growling. Are you hungry? 배에서 꼬르륵 소리나네. 배고프니?
Tim : Am I hungry! I'm revenous. 배가 고프냐고. 고프다 못해 죽을 지경이야.
Kate : Why? Did you skip your lunch? 왜? 점심을 굶었니?
Tim : Yes, I did. As a matter of fact, I haven't had a bite since my last dinner.
그래. 사실 어제 저녁부터 아무 것도 못 먹었어.
Tim : I'm starving. I'm so hungry that I could eat a horse.
배고파 죽겠다. 말이라도 잡아먹을 지경이야.
Kate : That hungry? 그렇게 배가 고파?
Tim : Am I ever hungry! Dinner sure smells good. 나 배고파 죽겠어! 저녁 냄새 정말 좋은데.
Kate : Did you have lunch today? 오늘 점심 먹었어?
Tim : No. As a matter of fact, I got so busy at the office that I forgot all about it.
아니. 사실은, 회사에서 너무 바빠서 깜빡했어.
Ross : Let's get a snack when the baseball game is over. 야구 경기 끝나면 뭐 좀 먹으러 가자.
Tim : When it's over! I'm dying of hunger now. 뭐 끝나고라고! 지금 배고파 죽겠는데.

eg) I'm famished. Fix me dinner. 배고파 죽겠네. 저녁 좀 차려줘.
eg) What's for dinner? I'm famished. 저녁 뭐야? 배고파 죽겠다.
