TIPS
♣ Break과 intermission은 모두 '휴식 시간'을 의미하는데 intermission은 주로 연극, 오페라 공연 등의 사이에 낀 쉬는 시간을 지칭할 때 사용되는 반면 학교 상황에서는 break가 더 자연스럽다.
'몇 분 쉬겠다' 라는 얘기를 할 때 (1) We're going to have a break for ten minutes, (2) Let's take/have a ten-minute break이라고 한다. 특히 주의할 것은 break를 수식하는 ten-minute은 단수 형태라는 것이다.
즉, "Let's take/have a ten-minutes break" 라고 하는 것은 맞지 않다.
